Monaco Grand Prix – Monte Carlo

Glamor, Glitz, Celebrity and extravagant is one way of describing the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo. This course is easily the one that all drivers want to win the most and is by far the mos testing. A drivers skills are really put to the test around the circuit as there is very little room for error.

Winning the Monaco Grand Prix puts a drivers name among the greats who have won in the past, Graham Hill and Michael Schumacher have each won it 5 times but no is yet to match Artyon Senna feat of wining in Monte Carlo 6 times. We have a list of all previous winners at the end of this page.

To drive the Monaco GP requires extreme technical ability and bravery and to stand a chance of winning then a good qualifying performance is a must. The track is one of the few street circuits on the F1 calendar (though they are becoming more common).

The Monaco GP always has the potential to throw up some surprises and very rarely ever goes incident free, with the close proximity of the barriers, drivers competing for position, there always seems to be some sort of collision at one point in the race.

You won’t see wheel to wheel racing here and overtaking galore, what you will see however is a drivers ability being tested to the limits and one of the reasons why Monaco GP in Monte Carlo is still viewed as one of the most prestigious races in the world.
