Canadian Grand Prix – Montreal

The Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal is one of the fastest circuits on the F1 calendar, with long straights and fast turns which lead to plenty of overtaking opportunities especially since the introduction of DRS to formula 1.

The track is name after Gilles Villeneuve  (father of Jacques Villeneuve) who tragically lost his life in 1982. Upon his death the circuit in Montreal was renamed after him. The first race was held in 1978 where Gilles Villeneuve on his Ferrari debut crossed the line for his first ever race win.
